Big Apple Happenings: The Agency’s Recent Events in NYC

by | Feb 1, 2023

The Agency team was all about town in the Big Apple, attending the annual Inman Connect conference—showcasing our talent and industry expertise across panels and speaking events—and also hosting our own event at our future East Coast headquarters. Here is a recap of all the exciting events that caused quite a buzz in NYC.

To kick off the week, The Agency’s top talent and agents attended Inman Connect New York, the premier real estate event for agents, brokers, executives, prop-tech and financial professionals and everyone who wants to network with the smartest people in the industry. Our experts took to the main stage to share how to navigate the current market, get insider guidance on what’s coming next—and make career-impacting connections. Spanning three days, this unique event featured many of The Agency’s own talent speaking on the following:

Santiago Arana was a featured panelist on How to Win Listings in a Competitive and Challenging Market, which was followed by a “Speaker Ask Me Anything” breakout session.

Matt Lionetti weighed in on a panel on How to Up Your Game as a Digital Creator: A Social Media Workshop. Mauricio Umansky, Alexia Umansky & Farrah Brittany teamed up for Reality TV, Family Drama and Building a Real Estate Legacy, which was followed by a “Speaker Meet and Greet,” where attendees got in line to snap a picture with the cast of Buying Beverly Hills on Netflix. Matt Lionetti also joined Tyler Whitman for a panel on The Anti-Trend: Using the Power of Authenticity to Remain Relevant to Your Clients When They Need You Most. And James Harris led a session on How to Become the Real Estate Star of Your Market

In the middle of all these panels, The Agency brought agents, managing partners, executives and industry leaders together for two VIP panels at The Agency New York, our new East Coast headquarters set to open this March.

In the first panel, the nation’s top agents share how to compete in a competitive market and their focus for 2023. Agents from New York to Los Angeles share their secrets to success, how to stand out from the competition, and what they’re focusing on to navigate through the current market and the year ahead. Molly Townsend, Senior Vice President and Managing Partner of The Agency New York, was the moderator and all-star panelists included Zar Zanganeh (Managing Partner of The Agency Las Vegas), James Harris (former star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles and Founder and Principal of the BOND Collective), Tyler Whitman (former star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing New York and leader of the top-producing sales team at The Agency New York).

The second panel covered the timely question: What’s ahead for the industry, and how will business thrive? Industry leaders shared their thoughts on the future of the real estate business model, what lies ahead and what they believe modern-day agents need to succeed in the future. Lucy Cohen Blatter, Editorial Director at Barron’s Group and Mansion Global, moderated the panel, which included the one and only Mauricio Umansky (Founder and CEO of The Agency), Santiago Arana (the #6 RealTrends-ranked agent in the country and Principal and Managing Partner at The Agency) and Heather Sinclair (Managing Partner of The Agency Aspen).

Our wonderful event sponsors included Agencia, a full-service, boutique title company, Vesta, a leading interior design company that beautifully outfitted the room with gorgeous staging, and Adriani Florals, who provided exquisite on-brand red florals. Krisp Events helmed the cocktails, including The Agency’s signature margarita. Event photography and videography were handled by Seven Studios, powered by Luxury Listings.

“I am beyond excited for what’s to come as we further grow our presence in New York, bringing our collaborative approach and boutique agent experience to the Big Apple and beyond,” noted Mauricio. New York City, we love you.
