Our agents kicked-off 2020 in charitable style and continued their mission of raising money to fund build days with our charity partner, Giveback Homes. We have long partnered with Giveback Homes, an organization that provides housing for those in need. But as times have changed and our build days have been postponed, The Agency has channeled the funds to Giveback Homes as they support local and international organizations providing assistance during the coronavirus pandemic. Additionally, agents throughout our global organization are donating a portion of their commission at closing to Giveback Homes on behalf of themselves and their clients.
Our Greater Los Angeles offices and agents took to the court for a good cause at a pre-pandemic event in Pasadena. These funds and others we have raised through various events, have been allocated to three charities supported by Giveback Homes, including World Central Kitchen (which delivers fresh meals to families in need), Direct Relief (which provides essential medical items and PPE equipment to health workers), and the World Health Organization.
The Agency’s Scottsdale team worked up a sweat in “Rowing for a Roof,” a pre-quarantine fundraising event for Giveback Homes. Teams of two were challenged to hit 21,097 meters in two-and-a-half hours at the local gym Row House. They were able to reach and surpass the fundraising goal for an upcoming build day. The funds are now being allocated to support pandemic relief efforts by The Society of St. Vincent De Paul, which is helping feed, clothe, house and heal those most vulnerable to the virus.
In addition to Giveback Homes, The Agency Park City team is supporting the Christian Center Park City, which is responding to urgent community needs and support.
As soon as we are able, we’ll be back raising funds and putting hammer to nail to build homes around the country, in partnership with Giveback Homes.
