From record sales to new listings and landmark office debuts, August was a busy month for The Agency. All eyes were on our A-List team of agents (and clients) as they made remarkable real estate moves around the globe. Here are some of the month’s hottest headlines that made waves.

848 HOT SPRINGS ROAD - This Spanish palace-inspired villa in Montecito got a nod from Forbes, which spotlighted the 11,947-square-foot mansion and its style, which “recalls another time and place, like a Moorish monarch’s palace from the 13th century (except situated on a picturesque hillside in affluent Montecito).” The property, Forbes writes, is “like a mirage, it arouses double-takes.”  Billy Rose, who represents the home, described its eclectic style to Robb Report

The Agency is once again on the move, continuing its expansion into Mexico with the opening of offices in La Paz and Todos Santos. Both offices will be led by Bernardo Mucino Koenig and Juan Diaz—who also spearheads The Agency’s Los Cabos office, alongside Adrienne Davis—and will serve the La Paz and Todos Santos markets.

Located north of Cabo San Lucas on the Pacific coast of the Baja California Peninsula, Todos Santos is one of Mexico’s best-kept secrets. A haven for artists, surfers and expats alike, the sleepy seaside town has been experiencing much buzz over the past few years with the arrival of innovative farm-to-table restaurants, high-end hotels and new real estate development.

Equally enchanting is the city of La Paz. The capital of

After much anticipation, the curtain was finally lifted last week on interior designer Windsor Smith’s new home, 227 N. Tigertail in Brentwood during a star-studded event. VIP guests mingled with Hollywood A-listers including Ellen Pompeo and husband Chris Ivery, Djimon Hounsou, Francesca Eastwood, among others.

Windsor is known for her modern-meets-classical point of view and strong celebrity following—Gwyneth Paltrow is a prominent fan and purchased Windsor’s first home in Mandeville Canyon in the early 2000s. Windsor joked to The Wall Street Journal that Gwyneth had been to the newly completed Brentwood property many times, but having purchased two of her homes already she “isn’t allowed to buy it."

Estancia Santa Barbara is having quite a summer. The new enclave of 72 luxury residences and townhomes situated on Upper State Street is nearing completion, with a limited number of homes available. On July 27, Estancia unveiled its final homes during a festive Spanish soirée for homeowners, brokers and prospective buyers. In the week following the event, several of the residences sold, with only a select number of unique floor plans remaining.

“The summer sales momentum has been exciting, and it's a true testament to Santa Barbara—quality, community, and fun," says Hana Cha, Managing Director of The Agency Development Group, which represents marketing and sales at Estancia. “Estancia offers the perfect blend of traditional Santa Barbara style and

Each year since 1950, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance automobile show has drawn thousands of car aficionados and collectors to the beautiful, pine tree-fringed beaches of Carmel-by-the-Sea. The gathering is one of the most anticipated of the season. This year’s event on Sunday, August 18 is sure to attract a bevy of designers, racing pros, industry leaders and media representatives.

Ahead of the Concours d’Elegance, The Agency’s Carmel-by-the-Sea office will proudly sponsor The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, set at the Quail Lodge & Golf Club. This garden party-style event takes place on Friday, August 16 from 10am to 4pm and is set amidst the club’s pristine 18-hole golf course, with a picturesque backdrop of the Santa Lucia mountain range.

In honor of 3250 Serra Road’s market debut, agents Sandro Dazzan and Cooper Mount hosted a summer soirée at the sprawling Malibu estate, which boasts five acres of incredible European-style gardens nestled in Malibu’s exclusive hilltop Serra Retreat. The property boasts blossoming Monet-inspired lily ponds, 17th-century stone architectural elements, rose gardens, an organic vegetable garden and fruit orchard, all laced with walking paths and dotted with ornate fountains.

Guests arrived at the 7,814-square-foot home through 24-hour, guarded gates and were greeted at the top of the stone-walled driveway with new wheels from Galpin Aston Martin. As they toured the lush grounds, attendees were handed chilled glasses of sparkling rosé from Malibu Rocky

Touring the finest properties on the California coast would inspire just about anyone to get behind the lens. But The Agency’s David Solomon isn’t just anyone. He’s one of the top-producing real estate agents in the nation (#170 to be exact, according to the 2019 REAL Trends Inc. “The Thousand” ranking) and an extremely talented photographer, whose two passions have converged in the best possible way.

David recently held his first solo photography exhibit, displaying some of his personal works at one of his exceptional listings in Santa Monica. David and his guests gathered at 1705 Ocean Avenue #501, which he co-lists with Anna Solomon, to enjoy a private showing of his gallery-sized images (featured below). Guests were treated to light bites,

Showcasing their painting, caulking and roofing skills, The Agency’s Beverly Hills agents and staff recently clocked in 140 volunteer hours to help build ten three-bedroom, two-bathroom homes in Culver City for families in need as part of our partnership with Giveback Homes.

“We are so proud to partner with Giveback Homes, an amazing organization that works hard to provide housing for people from all walks of life facing serious challenges,” says The Agency Co-Founder and CEO Mauricio Umansky.

Giveback Homes is an organization comprised of real estate professionals who help fund and build homes for families and individuals around the globe, from Los Angeles, Phoenix, Chicago and Houston to villages in Nicaragua. Since its founding in 2013,

On a warm summer afternoon, guests ascended the private, tree-lined drive to 848 Hot Springs Road in Montecito to celebrate the spectacular property’s market debut. Inspired by the legendary, 13th-century Alhambra palace in Granada, Spain and represented by The Agency’s Billy Rose, this nearly 12,000-square-foot, custom-built estate gracefully melds Old World architecture with Modernist details—think tall arches and detailed mosaics in Moorish, Spanish and Italianate style. This inimitable home was recently featured in The Wall Street Journal and Mansion Global.

Built in 2014 by MG Partners in collaboration with the owner, commercial director Kinka Usher, the estate’s entrancing 2.5-acre grounds boast gorgeous views of the Santa Barbara coast as

Hours before the BBQs were ignited and the fireworks lit, local runners and walkers gathered at the Palisades Recreation Center for the 42nd Annual Will Rogers 4th of July 5K & 10K.

The Agency team hit the pavement while others rewarded runners with waters and cheers as they raced along the scenic course through the Village and Will Rogers State Park. The Agency was proud to once again sponsor the annual Pacific Palisades event, which began in 1977 and has been attracting thousands of runners and supporters ever since. Net proceeds from the beloved community race go to the Pacific Palisades Optimist Club, which supports various youth charities and activities, such as the Palisades Malibu YMCA and the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles.
