Alexander Wang Lists Tribeca Loft

by | Jun 17, 2016

headerIt looks like former Balenciaga designer Alexander Wang is moving on up or at least out in this case. Wang has recently placed his painfully cool Tribeca loft on the market.

The 39 Worth Street building is pre-war, with a rich history to go with beautiful apartments. Wang purchased the loft back in 2010 for only $2 million, and now he is listing it for a cool $3.75 million . Six years living in fashionable luxury gives him the chance to almost double his money. That’s not a bad little investment.

It’s a one bedroom, two bathroom loft with over 2,500 square feet of bright, open space. Wang has remodeled the apartment from top to bottom without sparing any details: it really epitomizes the best of the loft lifestyle.

Massive mullioned windows throughout the loft gives a bright, airy feel all day and year round. The wood floors are stained a dark shade of ebony while the exterior bricks have been painted white: a chic mix of classic and contemporary style.

In fact, the whole apartment is currently furnished in Wang’s trademark monochromatic style, giving the apartment an effortlessly cool while personal feel.

Wang and his designers have taken an already beautiful property and made it one of the undeniably coolest apartments we’ve seen in New York.

Trouble with the Previous Sale

Curiously, the previous owner for the loft had difficulty finding prospective buyers. The loft was originally listed for $2.95 million in April 2006, but the property didn’t finally sell until June 2010, over four years later.

When it finally did sell, Wang bought it for $2 million, almost a million dollars below the original asking price. While most of us have neither Wang’s fashion and design genius nor his $2 million, we can still appreciate a bargain when we see one.
