The Agency family came out in full force to celebrate the debut of Bel Air’s newest and most exciting offering—1475 Bel Air Road. Designed and developed by Ray Nosrati of Huntington Estate Properties, the 12,027-square-foot estate is filled with warm finishes and rich textures that provide a sophisticated elegance.

During the evening event—sponsored by Swiss Property Management—guests were greeted with glasses of Gambino DOCG Brut, which glittered with 24-karat gold flakes.

Inside, amidst plenty of atmospheric Vogue candles, DCLA served up spicy tuna tartare with wasabi aioli, half-shell oysters and bacon-wrapped Medjool dates filled with chipotle spiced goat cheese—all of which paired nicely with glasses of Sauvignon Blanc from Malibu Rocky Oaks,

From the rarefied hilltops of Bel Air to the oak tree-shaded valleys of Northern California, these seven estates were envisioned for the ultimate wine aficionados, whether accommodating an extensive collection or a private vineyard for the aspiring winemaker.

Called Stella Nova, this 30-acre development opportunity perched on a hilltop in Bel Air boasts unobstructed panoramic views that encompass the Pacific, Downtown L.A. and the San Gabriel Mountain range. While a buyer could put their own spin on the development, the planned estate is bursting with exquisite amenities—and at the top of the list is an on-site private-label vineyard, which allows the owner to put their own stamp (literally) on the super local harvest.

Blog_Casiano Built in 1963 by Robert L. Earl, AIA Emeritus, The Earl Residence at 1394 Casiano Road exudes a youthful presence while maintaining ultimate privacy in the hills of Bel Air. The 4-bed, 3-bath home has many of its vintage architectural designs still in tact and, under the guidance of Robert himself, has been restored to reflect its original style and design. 160326_are_mn_casiano-44Originally inhabited by the architect, the current owners (The Agency's Max Nelson's clients) pulled permits and learned of the home's first owner. They were able to track him down and ask for his consult on the remodel, and Robert happily obliged. Sitting on half an acre promontory, the mid century home boasts an abundance of natural light, indoor/outdoor movement, terrazzo floors, a private yard…

Zoltan Pali and Judit M. Fekete at their office in Culver City

Zoltan Pali, Founder and Design Principal at SPF: architects, a Los Angeles based architectural firm, recently designed the architectural sanctuary at 1704 Stone Canyon Road in Bel Air. The home was featured in Architectural Digest and has won numerous awards, including “Home of the Year” when it was first completed in the early 2000s.

Zoltan Pali generously lent his time for a Q&A with The Agency's Paul Lester.

You've stated that you designed 1704 Stone Canyon with the prime objective of simplicity and open space. Do you find it more difficult in design to achieve the simple than the complex?

Difficult is the wrong term.  I think it takes a lot of hard work and perhaps more time,

Inspired by the Richard Meier-designed Getty Museum, and built with travertine stone from the same quarry as the Getty, 2251 Linda Flora Drive has been garnering attention left and right from luxury publications.

The 10,000 square-foot estate is currently featured in the May/June 2014 edition of Robb Report Home & Style, which notes: “Making a statement proportional to its large scale, this travertine-encased residence, completed earlier this year, is as suitable for displaying art as it is for entertaining.”2251LindaFlora_07

The Hollywood Reporter spotlights our stunning new architectural listing in Bel Air (2251 Linda Flora Drive), owned and designed by commercial producer David Tate. Inspired by the Richard Meier-designed Getty Museum, the 10,000-square foot home overlooking the 350-acre untouched Hoag Canyon, even features stone from the same quarry as the Getty travertine.

"They’re selling [the stone] at the museum in tiny blocks – instead, I got a houseful,” Tate told The Hollywood Reporter.

2251-LindaFlora-Dr02"Richard Meier is someone whose work I admire and respect,"  said Tate. "The Getty did give me inspiration, but mostly the design grew out of what I thought this property and location could provide."

Although born in Mexico City, I was basically raised in Bel Air. From the age of 6, I lived right around the corner from the Glen Centre and now, a few decades later, I still live right around the same corner with my own family. It’s so peaceful living up in the hills away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
