At an awards gala on September 19, it was announced that The Agency was Highly Commended as one of two winners of “Best Real Estate Company: California” at the prestigious International Property Awards 2014-15.

The Agency competed against a number of high-profile real estate agents and property consultants across California to receive this recognition. The announcement was made at an awards gala and presentation dinner at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE hotel on Friday September 19th, where heads of the industry gathered for an evening of networking, drinks and appreciation. The snow (and rain) has finally settled in Sochi and everyone here at The Agency is proud of our Team USA athletes who competed at the 22nd Winter Olympic Games. Over the course of seventeen days, host country Russia topped the medal count with 13 gold medals and 33 overall, while the United States finished 4th, just five medals shy.

The high-end real estate market in California had a banner year in 2012 thanks, in part, to a record number of cash buyers and an upturn in home values. According to The L.A. Times, a record 697 homes sold for more than $5 million in California last year; a marked increase from the previous high of 491 in 2011.

Also on the rise were homes purchased for a million dollars or more, with a total of 26,993 homes selling for a million dollars or more last year, the highest level in five years and a nearly 27% increase from the year before. Still, the number is far less than the record set in 2005, when 54,773 homes sold for a million dollars or more.
