On an evening in early autumn, The Agency hosted a twilight event at The Sevens to celebrate the new collection of traditionally informed modern homes in Hancock Park. Fusing West Coast airiness with grand, East Coast-inspired elegance, the seven free-standing, three-story homes are located on the northwest corner of Wilshire and Rimpau, moments from the shops, restaurants and entertainment of Larchmont Village and West  Hollywood.

Guests sipped Champagne and rosé, enjoyed fresh cheeses and fruit from an antipasto spread by Bites & Bashes, and got an up-close view of French-born, L.A.-based artist Alexander Partman as he crafted a one-of-a-kind piece on site, called “Black Swan” (it’s since been sold).

It was only last year that Downtown LA residents were ecstatic to have City Target open their massive 104,000-square foot store at FIGat7th to the retail-deprived neighborhood. What created even more excitement was that amongst standard household necessities, City Target offered groceries, beer and wine and even a Starbucks. Since then, the local shopping center has been the leader in the local revitalization of our urban mecca and succeeded in bringing in other major retailers such as Sports Chalet and Victoria’s Secret.

Meanwhile, FIGat7th has continued to join forces with prime department conglomerates such as Zara and H&M, both of which are slated to open their doors to shoppers this spring. To complete the variety of retail

Established in 1917, this open warehouse of local vendors, street foods, local delicacies and arts of Downtown Los Angeles is getting bigger and even better.

Over a hundred years ago, Broadway was the center of the commercial and entertainment corridor in the DTLA neighborhood. What is now Bunker Hill Towers was then a quaint neighborhood of mostly Victorian mansions. Residents came down the Angels Flight to shop for groceries in the market below.

Though the market has evolved and changed along with the population of Downtown Los Angeles, and housed over ninety-plus vendors including multiple green grocers, fishmongers, Jewish delish, butchers, baked goods, flowers, coffee and eggs, it has remained popular among downtown Angelenos.
