Our dynamic team of agents made remarkable real estate moves around the country this month, from listing an all-new home in Beverly Hills with a prehistoric piece of art to a pair of exceptional estates in Santa Barbara. Here are some of the month’s must-read media clips.

BRAVOTV - Mauricio Umansky, Farrah Brittany, James Harris and David Parnes were spotlighted on BravoTV.com for their appearance on The Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of “Top 30 Real Estate Agents in Hollywood.” James and David were lauded for the $120 million sale of L.A.’s most expensive home, Mauricio’s team of agents (known as The Umansky Team) was touted for bringing in $278 million in sales and Farrah was named one the L.A. real estate industry’s most promising

Set on more than two acres of park-like grounds in the rolling foothills of Santa Barbara’s Santa Ynez Mountains, 365 El Cielito Road has been beautifully reimagined by founder and CEO of Templehome Architecture & Design, Xorin Balbes. The award-winning architectural designer has imbued every corner of the estate with a fusion of Japanese architecture and sleek, mid-century modern style. From its hillside perch, the home captures views of the Pacific and the Channel Islands in the distance.

Throughout the ultra-private, gated estate, find uncommon, eye-catching design details like wood-paneled vaulted ceilings, modern light fixtures as well as vibrantly-patterned wall coverings. Wellness-minded details include meditation areas, a dedicated card-reading

Feeling at home also means feeling at peace, and these four residences have been thoughtfully designed—some using the ancient energy-focused Chinese art of placement, Feng Shui—to maximize good vibes and positive energy.

From record sales to new listings and landmark office debuts, August was a busy month for The Agency. All eyes were on our A-List team of agents (and clients) as they made remarkable real estate moves around the globe. Here are some of the month’s hottest headlines that made waves.

848 HOT SPRINGS ROAD - This Spanish palace-inspired villa in Montecito got a nod from Forbes, which spotlighted the 11,947-square-foot mansion and its style, which “recalls another time and place, like a Moorish monarch’s palace from the 13th century (except situated on a picturesque hillside in affluent Montecito).” The property, Forbes writes, is “like a mirage, it arouses double-takes.”  Billy Rose, who represents the home, described its eclectic style to Robb Report

On a warm summer afternoon, guests ascended the private, tree-lined drive to 848 Hot Springs Road in Montecito to celebrate the spectacular property’s market debut. Inspired by the legendary, 13th-century Alhambra palace in Granada, Spain and represented by The Agency’s Billy Rose, this nearly 12,000-square-foot, custom-built estate gracefully melds Old World architecture with Modernist details—think tall arches and detailed mosaics in Moorish, Spanish and Italianate style. This inimitable home was recently featured in The Wall Street Journal and Mansion Global.

Built in 2014 by MG Partners in collaboration with the owner, commercial director Kinka Usher, the estate’s entrancing 2.5-acre grounds boast gorgeous views of the Santa Barbara coast as

Set amidst a grove of mature oak trees with sweeping vistas of the ocean, mountains and channel islands, 875 Knollwood Drive, a magnificent French Country estate presents an uncompromising lifestyle where casual elegance meets sophisticated charm in an idyllic natural setting. Hidden away on a cul-de-sac behind a private gate, this exquisite home was masterfully rebuilt with the utmost attention to detail and with no expenses spared in quality and craftsmanship.

Our newest listing in Montecito, this magnificent French Country estate, is the featured home in the latest “Private Properties” column of the Wall Street Journal.

The home was masterfully rebuilt with the utmost attention to detail and with no expenses spared in quality and craftsmanship in the early 2000s. The nearly 3 acre property includes outdoor amenities like a wood-burning fireplace, large swimming pool, basketball and trampoline play area, dog run and kennel, and so much more.

As the WSJ notes:

"With expansive views of the Pacific Ocean, the roughly 11,300-square-foot home has four bedrooms and eight bathrooms, plus a one-bedroom guest apartment."

The property is home to actor Don Johnson, and his wife, Kelley Phleger. The WSJ explains

The grand, historic Montecito estate, known as "Casa del Sueno," was the featured home on "HGTV Frontdoor" this week.

Dating back to 1917, the picturesque 8,500-square-foot Mediterranean mansion was designed by legendary architect Reginald D. Johnson (The Biltmore Hotel, The Santa Barbara Post Office), who was famous for pioneering the Mediterranean style here in Southern California. Heiress and philanthropist Amy du Pont, the youngest daughter of Eugene du Pont, lived at this gorgeous 4.5-acre estate for 44 years until she died of a stroke in 1962. It was then purchased by actor/singer Burl Ives, who lived there until about 1992. The estate is listed with agents Carol Dotson and Susan Pekich.

CarolDotsonI spend as much time as I can in Montecito. It’s a wonderful little village that sits on the ocean, bordered by the mountains, painting a picture of serenity. There is such a 'hometown' feel about it. No traffic jams – it’s all very casual and laid back. Yet Montecito is also full of celebrities and the wealthy who have chosen to own a home here. I have many friends and clients here, and they all have two or more homes.
