The Herman Behr Queen Anne Revival Villa was built in 1888 by Frank Freeman for the wealthy industrialist . It is 20,000 sq feet and currently houses 26 apartments, an elevator and a garage. After the family relocated in 1919 there was an addition added and it became the Hotel Palm, a neighborhood bordello. Then it was bought by the Francescan Monks thought to be a place used to "dry them out". In 1977,vacant and considered a "white elephant' " a savvy real estate developer purchased it and converted into apartments , all immediately rented and rarely any vacancies. The apartments are not cookie cutter and all have surprising original details. Description provided by "Sandra Dowling":http://streeteasy.com/Dowling
