430 Broome St

430 Broome Street is currently configured as a residential rental building in SoHo that has six units. Built in 1900 and five stories high, 430 Broome Street has a single elevator to service the building. Historically a garment manufacturing building, 430 Broome Street today is a very different place. Boasting a commercial space on the first floor that has traditionally be used by restaurants, 430 Broome Street had a varied history before transforming itself into a residential building in the 1980’s. Today the building that rests on a 25 x 89 square foot lot, using 25 x 85 square feet to create 11,050 square feet inside. The commercial space on the first floor uses 2,210 square feet, leaving 8,840 square feet for the residential units. The exterior of the building is notable for the Renaissance Revival style that was freely employed to enhance the red brick building. Popular when used and classic in nature, Queen Anne flourishes were used on the exterior as well, like the beautiful corner cartouche that notes the 1896 date for when construction started at 430 Broome Street. Centrally located in SoHo and near the subway on a tree lined Street, 430 Broome Street makes a lovely space to call home.
