The Richmond District is one of the largest neighborhoods in San Francisco, California. It is known for being a quiet oasis surrounded by nature. Lincoln Park is just north of the district and Golden Gate Park is just south. To the west is the Pacific Ocean. The Central Richmond area is generally considered to be between California Street to the north and Fulton Street to the south, and from 32nd Street on the west to Park Presidio Boulevard on the east side. Many of the homes in Central Richmond area are a Marina Style architecture. These typically have a garage on the street level with the main living area above that. The roof tends to be flat and the exterior is usually stucco. Due to most of the homes having garages many residents commute in their own cars but public transportation is readily available and about 36% of the residents use it to travel to and from work.
