Grand Turk is the capital island of the Turks and Caicos. Located southeast of Miami, Florida, Grand Turk is a Caribbean island that sits between The Bahamas and the Dominican Republic. The largest island of the Turks island cluster, Grand Turk is home to almost five thousand residents. Occupying only about seven square miles of land, Grand Turk is a small island with a relaxed vibe, pristine beaches and a welcoming population. Its laid-back and friendly people are part of what gives the island its true Caribbean charm. Grand Turk is known as a quieter island with a more local feel than Providenciales. Although this island is a cruise ship port, it is more secluded and shielded from the large tourist population than Providenciales. Also more rustic and rural, it’s common to see wild horses roaming the beaches along the northern and southern parts of the island.
