Orinda, California, is a little landlocked town nestled within Contra Costa County’s borders. Surrounded by a tree-lined hillside, Orinda enjoys views of grassy rolling hills and a rustic landscape. Unlike its closest urbanized neighbors, Orinda is a semi-rural area with a small-town population. This suburban town is located east of Berkley and forms part of a larger tri-city area referred to as Lamorinda. Named after its bordering neighbors, Lamorinda encompasses Orinda and its two adjacent towns, Lafayette and Moraga. Orinda’s location is also close to a number of Bay Area towns and cities. With easy access to Highway 24, Orinda provides residents with a reasonable commute to larger cities such as Oakland, Berkley, San Francisco and Walnut Creek. As such, many residents who live in Orinda drive to these neighboring areas for work.
