Along the Pacific Coast of Mexico, just south of San Francisco, sits the small town of Sayulita. The town backs up against the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains. It is part of the area known as Riviera Nayarit, which is growing quickly and becoming a popular vacation spot for tourists. The culture in the village today has a “hippie” vibe to it. There is a sense of peace and love amongst the community. The community is made up of cultures from all over the world. Expats from many countries such as the United States, France, Canada, and Germany all mingle with the locals as well as the indigenous tribes. Both locals and visitors find there is plenty to do in Sayulita. Surfing is the biggest draw as the surf here is great for both beginners and professionals. Many also enjoy the horseback riding, snorkeling, and stand up paddle boarding. Of course, there is also plenty of nature to go explore and great hiking in the nearby mountains.
