The thing they don't tell you about living in CT is that it is really just as difficult to tour apartments as someone who is flying in from across the country. I stubbornly decided to tough it out because I didn't want to be defeated as a native NYer, thinking I knew what to look out for, but apartment searching in NYC now is honestly worse than the hunger games. After going on numerous tours, enduring weekly interstate commutes in NYC traffic, and constant streeteasy and cityrealty notifications I didn't find anything that was worth the asking price or had all of my non-negotiables (note to self, don't take a position that requires a car, even in the outer boroughs, it is a lot). I was about to give up on my NYC apartment search and live my best Leona Helmsley life but decided to trust my gut after a tour and reached out to David Gibbs at The Agency for help. He honestly is the most trustworthy broker I have ever met, he was consistent, with great communication skills and really advocated for me. He found me a really gorgeous place with all my wants, within my budget AND for a reasonable fee. I now know who to contact when I am in the market for a condo once I move on from this job
