At this year’s 55th annual NAREE 2021 Conference in Miami, Ian Hurdle took to the stage for a fireside chat with Senior News Writer of CoStar Tony Wilbert to discuss the Caribbean luxury real estate market.
As Founder and Director of The Agency Turks & Caicos and a leading luxury agent, Ian had astute insights to offer on evolutions in the market from the last few years. “Even before the pandemic, the Caribbean has shown steady growth,” Ian noted. “Since COVID-19, the entire Caribbean region is experiencing an uptick in interest from investors around the world. Ease of travel from the United States and Canada, a US standard in building codes and the weight of the US dollar have been key drivers for international buyers.”
Ian predicts that Turks & Caicos will continue to be one of the most sought-after areas in the Caribbean. “Due to the absence of annual property tax and the development of the island, purchasing a property in Turks & Caicos will continue to be a safe investment.”
