Katherine Demakos

Vice President of Marketing, New Development
As Vice President of Marketing for New Developments at The Agency New York, Katherine Demakos brings an acute understanding of all aspects of the new development lifecycle. Harnessing her passion for design, Katherine pairs her keen aesthetic eye with years of experience spearheading the marketing and sales strategies for some of the most significant new developments in Manhattan and Brooklyn, including Madison Square Park Tower, 277 Fifth Avenue, 75 Kenmare, Steiner East Village, and Olympia Dumbo.

Having lived throughout NYC and Brooklyn for over a decade, Katherine possesses an unmatched understanding of successful sell-out strategies, and insight into the New York buyer audience, and has first-hand, wide-ranging knowledge of the new development landscape, including the region’s biggest development players and entities.

“What excites me most about new development real estate is the opportunity to influence projects from the pre-development, conceptual stage to final realization. To experience the successful execution of our concepts, ideas, and strategies, turning renderings into realities… it’s truly a dream to be building the dream.”

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Katherine graduated from St. Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts and Education, and also studied abroad in Florence, Italy.

Katherine then began her professional career in the fashion world, working as a financial planner and product merchandiser for industry-leading brands including Club Monaco, Calypso St. Barth, and Ann Taylor. In 2017, she transitioned from fashion into real estate as an administrative manager for a luxury new development in Brooklyn, and the rest, as they say, is history.

“Working in fashion gave me great insight into forecasting financials, developing impactful marketing campaigns, and managing big personalities with even bigger expectations,” says Katherine. “To succeed in the luxury new development market, it’s essential to stay ahead of the curve, while keeping a focus on optimizing value for our clients, and creating properties that meet current and future market needs. I love the energy of this city’s fast-moving market and am ecstatic about The Agency’s New York new development debut. For me, it’s New York or Nowhere.”

Now a resident of Long Island, Katherine enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two daughters, attending concerts, and playing golf, squash, and tennis. Katherine also supports local non-profits God’s Love We Deliver, which cooks and delivers meals for people too sick to shop or cook for themselves, and Cycle for Survival, a nationwide movement to beat rare cancers, owned and operated by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
