Hermes To Open Remodeled Beverly Hills Boutique September 4

by | Aug 29, 2013

Hermès is finally re-opening its Beverly Hills boutique on September 4, after an extensive 18-month renovation.

Tasked with the redesign was Paris-based RDAI, which handles all of the French fashion house’s boutiques worldwide. Among the reported highlights of the new interior are a white marble spiral staircase that leads to “a roofless roof” made possible by a “membrane air cushion, which sits invisibly over the circular opening.”

Located at 434 North Rodeo Drive, the store’s exterior was dramatically updated with a distinctive white marble façade and an avant-garde, ice cube tray edifice.

Hermès is celebrating the re-opening with several limited edition items including a $12,900 basketball, which we wrote about last week. The brand also commissioned animation artist Anthony Burrill to create a video inspired by the architecture of the space and the iconography of Beverly Hills and Southern California. View a video of the animation below, and to learn more about Burrill’s inspiration, go here.
