A Single Man, authored by Isherwood, was among the first and most influential literary novels about a gay man. In 2009, director Tom Ford, brilliantly adapted it into a film. An artist, Bachardy has received accolades worldwide for his portraits of major creative cultural and political figures over the past 60 years, including Jack Nicholson, Elton John, Tilda Swindon, Jane Fonda and more.
