Impeccable Design And Exceptional Cuisine Converge In L.A.

Maude – Beverly Hills

While a no-frills, greasy spoon still has its place in American cuisine, restaurants that focus on the entire dining experience – from design to service to food – are where the chic want to be. These 5 Los Angeles restaurants provide exceptional experiences in thoughtfully designed spaces.

Maude
With just 25 seats, Curtis Stone’s Maude is a cozy fine-dining affair. An ideal spot for a celebratory nine-course meal, “Maude was designed to be inviting and handcrafted so it feels less like a restaurant and more like the great room in Curtis’ home,” said Jeffrey Kurt Thompson, lead designer, Bishop Pass Studio.

“As one eats from the carefully curated menu, the dining experience always subtly evokes Curtis Stone himself. So, whether or not he is actually present, the guest will feel the presence of his personal style, as if they are dining with Curtis,” said Jeffrey.

Nobu Malibu

Nobu Malibu moved across the Pacific Coast Highway from its original location to a new wooden, waterfront location. The seamless inclusion of the sea into the environment offers a sensational view from every seat. While Nobu is known for exquisite cuisine, the design of the space is also impressive. Clean lines and open spaces converge in this beachfront space creating a calming and electric vibe at the same time.

Providence

Chef Michael Cimarusti’s sustainable seafood-focused tasting menus have garnered multiple James Beard Award nominations and two Michelin stars. The serene dining room, with crisp white tablecloths and plush midnight blue velvet chairs, conjure up an era of elegance and sophistication. The walls feature a richly patterned design that offer a significant contribution to the overall feeling of lavishness. Providence is considered one of the best fine-dining experiences, if not the best, in Los Angeles.

Bestia

An instantaneous hit when it opened just over three years ago, Bestia is helmed by husband-and-wife star chefs Ori Menashe and Genevieve Gergis. Their innovative take on rustic Italian cuisine draws a hip crowd to the industrial-chic interior. Located in a former warehouse in L.A.’s Arts District, Bestia makes exposed brick, concrete, duct work and Edison bulbs look elegant and cool.

Jon & Vinny’s

Equal parts chefs and restaurateurs, Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo operate what are arguably some of L.A.’s best-loved restaurants. Jon & Vinny’s newest endeavor is a neighborhood pizzeria. The streamlined space features modern white oak interiors – a far cry from the traditional red and white checkered tablecloths you’d find in a traditional pizzeria. They serve a pizza named L.A. Woman and offer soft-serve ice cream for dessert.

Enjoy these L.A. Restaurants and their delightfully-designed spaces and delicious cuisine for your next night out on the town.
