If you’re looking to try something new, here are the top new restaurants that have opened recently in the L.A. area, including two eateries featured by Eater critic Bill Addison in his recent ranking of The 21 Best New Restaurants in America.

Baroo

After a brief hiatus this past spring, Baroo has reopened and continues to receive rave reviews from customers. Selected by Addison for his national ranking, the understated, casual restaurant is tucked away in an unassuming strip mall, and there’s no signage on or around its front doors, which can make it difficult to find. Once you’ve managed to locate it, however, you’re in for a treat. The restaurant’s Chef, Kwang Uh, uses a special blend of Korean cuisine and local ingredients to create several unique and delicious dishes.

Cassia

Also making the top 21, Cassia offers a feast for the tastebuds with an explosion of flavor in every dish. The restaurant itself is of grand-scale decor, with soaring ceilings and an abundance of natural light. Located in Santa Monica, this Vietnamese restaurant offers a wide selection of soups, seafood, cocktails and more.

Must-try dish: Pot Au Feu

Howlin’ Ray’s

Another mind-blowing experience that tops our list is Howlin’ Ray’s. If you’re into spicy food, then you’ll fall in love with the restaurant’s Nashville-style hot chicken. The place is in such high-demand that the wait to get in the door can be up to an hour long, so plan accordingly.

Norah

Exquisite decor and delicious food go hand in hand at this West Hollywood eatery. You’ll be awed by the beautiful space and charming ambiance when you step through Norah’s doors. This American restaurant has an extensive menu that features American and vegan dishes, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
