The best places to sip and swirl in Palm Springs.

COACHELLA VALLEY BREWING CO. – This locally owned and operated brewery focuses on the uniqueness of the Southern California desert, connecting both sides of the Coachella Valley through expertly crafted beer and locally grown ingredients. Pay a visit to their tap room to sample their tasty new IPAs or take a brewery tour for the inside scoop on their farm-to-table techniques.

LA QUINTA BREWING CO. – A bronze medal winner for their Indian Canyon IPA at the 2014 San Diego International Beer Competition, just a year after opening its doors (not too shabby considering SD’s reputation as the “hop head” capital of the country), this popular brewery is home to a 15-barrel brewhouse and onsite taproom in Palm Desert, as well as an Old Town Taproom in Old Town La Quinta and a location in Palm Springs where patrons are encouraged to “Taste the Sunshine.” No food is served, however, visitors are welcome to order in, or bring their own snacks to enjoy with their favorite pours.

THE VINE WINE BAR – This laidback Palm Desert wine bar serves delicious sips in a sophisticated, parlor setting. Locals flock to their happy hour, offered from 4pm-7pm Monday through Friday, featuring a curated selection of bites and sips (wine and martinis) that are sure to help you unwind during the busy work week.

DEAD OR ALIVE – This design-forward beer and wine bar in Palm Springs offers a well curated selection of craft beers and wine in a sleek—dare we say trippy?—setting. Founded by Anthony Cioffi, a designer and son of architect James Cioffi, the bar, framed by a massive, glowing orb, features a revolving menu that changes weekly based on the availability of small barrels and cases.

COUNTER REFORMATION – Describing itself as “A shrine to great wine,” this intimate watering hole inside the Parker Hotel—complete with an authentic confessional from Italy—is a favorite amongst wine-loving locals and sun-seeking vacationers alike. Grab a seat at the bar, and enjoy an eclectic selection of tasty small plates and wines by the glass.
