Backed by a team of devoted animal-lovers, one of The Agency’s own hosted a happy hour fundraiser and donation drive to support local Scottsdale shelter, Foothills Animal Rescue. Founded in 1995, the shelter works to find foster and permanent homes for abandoned and surrendered cats and dogs.
“I am so inspired by the work of Foothills Animal Rescue,” says Yvonne Matejka, who spearheaded the event. “I know how much love animals bring to people’s lives—adopting my dog, Disko, was such a special moment in my life. The dogs and cats at Foothills Animal Rescue need our support, and I wanted to harness the power of our team and our local network of friends, clients and family to bring attention to this great organization.”
Guests arrived to Hotel Adeline in Scottsdale with raffle tickets for a bounty of great prizes, including a 90-minute massage from Levanah Faellstroem, branded golf accessories from Tito's Handmade Vodka, a gift certificate from Luxury Spray Tan as well as Amazon and Starbucks gift cards.
Attendees were also encouraged to bring along in-demand items for the shelter’s animals—such as blankets, toys and dog and cat food.
Among the local agents in attendance were Raul Siqueiros, Jack Luciano, Peter Hall, Megan Viterbo, David Pullon, Michele Williams, Louis Hernandez, Tanner Riordan, Adrian Heyman and broker Lenna Bien.
But the true stars of the night were a pair of adoptable puppies from the shelter, who quickly stole the heart of every guest. By the end of the evening, Yvonne and the team had raised more than $400 in donations and supplies.
“Our team here in Arizona truly exemplifies The Agency’s collaborative spirit,” says Yvonne. “I am grateful to be surrounded by such kind-hearted people, and touched by the generosity of all the supporters who attended and donated,” says Yvonne. “So many animals depend on the staff at Foothills Animal Rescue to survive, and I’m really pleased we could do something to help their cause. I’m sure we’ll be holding more events like this in the future!”
