SF CELEBRATES FLEET WEEK - From ship tours to air shows, this popular Bay Area tradition has something for everyone. Taking place October 6-14 around San Francisco, must-see events include the air show, which rockets over the Bay October 11-13 (for guaranteed views, book VIP tents on Marina Green) and the Parade of Ships on October 11.  

GET THE BLUES HERE - Now an iconic city event—after all, it is free—the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park will run October 4-6 and feature performances from top acts like Tanya Tucker, The Waterboys and Joan Osborne. 

GET CRAFTY HERE - The Danville FallFest is full of fun for the whole fam—cruise through downtown Danville October 19 and 20 to browse locally made ceramics, photography and paintings as well as live music and a cool classic car show. 

SAY “BOO” AT THE ZOO - October 26 and 27 from 10am to 3pm, don your Halloween costumes and head to Oakland Zoo for the annual Boo at the Zoo event. Kids can Trick or Treat for candy, ride the zoo’s train and help make snacks for the animals.

FIND YOUR CRUSH HERE - On October 20 from 11am to 3pm, make your way to Healdsburg Plaza to taste local wines and foods during the annual Healdsburg Crush festival. Snack on fresh fare as you sip samples from more than 60 wineries—and don’t leave without trying the limited-production West Coast Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and sparkling wines.  

BRING THE FAMILY HERE - The Carmel Annual Harvest Festival will kick off October 27 at 2pm at The Barnyard Shopping Village’s picturesque interior gardens. Let the kids join in for the costume parade, pony rides, face painting, giveaways and crafts. Grown-ups can enjoy some candy (why not?) and live music by the Dave Holodiloff Band.
