SEE THE CIRCUS HERE – Grab your most vibrant Halloween costume and check out Insomniac’s 2-night festival, Escape Psycho Circus. On Friday October 25 and Saturday October 26, take in DJ sets from multiple outdoor stages, explore the amusement rides and brave the haunted houses, the roaming dead and more.
GET YOUR HOCUS POCUS FIX HERE – Freeform’s Halloween House at the Hollywood Athletic Club will host spooky celebrations for several nights in early October—the event brings the beautifully ghoulish worlds of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and iconic 1993 film Hocus Pocus to life through drag contests, music and lots of perfectly creepy cocktails.
ENJOY OKTOBERFEST HERE – Home to the L.A. County Fair, this month the Fairplex will be transformed into an epic Oktoberfest every Friday and Saturday from 6pm to midnight. The venue will be alive with Bavarian music, dancing, bratwurst, knockwurst, pretzels and beer.
SUPPORT THE ARTS HERE – Since the beginning of the summer, the Second Home Serpentine Pavilion by SelgasCano has occupied the lawn near the La Brea Tar Pits—it’s that big rainbow-hued design everyone has been talking about. The installation has also helped raise awareness to support free arts programming. On October 12 and 13, several of those organizations will host art and music performances. Among the participating organizations are Covenant House, a non-profit homeless shelter that provides support for homeless and trafficked youth, and Infinite Flow, a dance company composed of participants with and without disabilities.
CALLING ALL FOODIES – October 2-5, the All-Star Chef Classic will be heating up and taking over Downtown’s L.A. LIVE venue for the sixth year, bringing together acclaimed chefs from around the globe for four days of demonstrations, dynamic dining experiences, unforgettable tastings and up-close chef access. Move quickly—several events have already sold out.
