Holiday Celebrations

Purim Celebration

March 16th and 17th

Purim is a Jewish holiday that honors Queen Esther, who courageously saved the Jewish people of Ancient Persia from devastation. The Hamptons community will start their Purim celebration with a Megillah reading at the Chabad House on March 16th. The next day, a final Megillah reading will take place at 5:30 pm, followed by a festive feast, a youth bake-off, and other family-friendly activities.

16th Annual Hampton Bays St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Beat the winter blues and celebrate Celtic traditions with the Hampton Bays community. This annual event features bagpipe bands, lively floats, community organizations, hometown heroes, and more. Hampton Bays St. Patrick’s Day accessories, including shirts and hats, can be purchased before the event by visiting the parade website.  

Jamesport St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The people of the picturesque town of Jamesport are commemorating their Irish roots with a St. Patrick’s Day parade. This year’s grand marshal is Dawn Thomas, who is the first woman to hold the position in the parade’s 7-year history. The event begins at North Railroad and Washington Avenues and will end at the Jamesport Fire House. 

60th Annual Montauk St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The Montauk St. Patrick’s Day parade is one of the grandest Irish celebrations in East Hampton. In the past, the festive marching bands and colorful floats have drawn crowds as big as 40,000! This event also creates a buzz because of its high-stakes raffle. Montauk Friends of Erin will sell four hundred highly coveted Pot of Gold tickets before the event. The first-place winner will receive $10,000 and be announced at the pre-parade annual cocktail party on March 26th.

It’s officially time for East Hampton’s annual Easter Egg Hunt – let’s hop to it! The Ladies’ Village Improvement Society of East Hampton (LVIS) puts on this family-friendly affair featuring expansive egg hunts for younger and older children, prizes, and photos with the Easter bunny. After the festivities, check out the LVIS Book Shop for gifts to add to your children’s Easter baskets.

The Ladies’ Village Improvement Society’s (LVIS) Annual Fair has been a source of community pride since 1896. This esteemed event boasts an array of offerings, including a children’s play and activity area, a flower sale, food trucks, and live music. Win vacations, culinary adventures, membership to private clubs, and more at the silent auction. Money raised from the event will go toward area improvements, preservation, and scholarships. 

Sag Harbor Summer Arts & Crafts Fair

Bagpipes Calling! Screening

The Hampton Bays Public Library presents a screening of Andrea Wozny’s film, Bagpipes Calling! Andrea is a Long Island native descended from Irish and Scottish immigrants. She regularly performs with her bagpipe band, Northport Pipe and Drum, at the Grey Horse Tavern. Bagpipes Calling! is a musical documentary that creatively chronicles Long Island’s Irish pride through the eyes of Andrea and her bandmates. This screening is the perfect way to kick off St. Patrick’s Day weekend and support a local artist. 

The Grift – A Practice in the Art of Deception

This immersive, theatrical game is like nothing you have ever experienced before. The show’s hosts will break the audience into small groups and train them on the art of deception. The audience will use their newly acquired skills to meet characters and look for clues throughout Sag Harbor. Together, they will discover if they are savvy enough to take down the ultimate evil genius. The Grift is a globally acclaimed show that has sold-out audiences in London and San Diego.

The beloved Bridgehampton Chamber music spring concerts are back after taking a two-year pause. This year’s series includes three renowned, classical acts whose melodic symphonies will effortlessly rush in the serenity of spring. The Verona Quartet, known for its masterful Beethoven pieces, will make its Bridgehampton Chamber debut on March 26th. The Baroque Spring, who performs imaginative Renaissance works, will take to the stage on April 23rd. Lastly, French Flourishes will use a harmonious flute, violin, and piano blend to close out the season.

Comedian Colin Mochrie, best known for his work on Whose Line Is it Anyway?, is teaming up with master hypnotist Asad Mecci for a hilariously mind-boggling show. Bridgehampton Half Marathon

Featured in Runner’s World Magazine, the Bridgehampton Half Marathon is a must-run race for all runners. The 13.1-mile course takes you through historic villages, rolling farmland, and oceanside trails. Runners receive a T-shirt and SWAG bag, and finishers secure a coveted medal.

Mighty Montauk Triathlon

Take in the natural beauty of the Hamptons while accomplishing a major athletic milestone! The Mighty Montauk was founded in 1982 and is considered the area’s season athletic opener. The USA sanctioned event consists of a 1-mile swim in salty Lake Montauk, a 20-mile bike ride past the historic Montauk Lighthouse, and a 6.2 mile run through scenic hills. Local charities, including St. Therese Youth Group and East Hampton PBA, will benefit from the proceeds.
