With over twenty-five years of experience in the world of real estate, The Agency's President Rainy Hake Austin is no stranger to the industry’s distinct nuances, challenges and global players. She’s worked with some of the most esteemed brokerages, passionately and thoughtfully leading companies to very successful outcomes—and she’s always looking toward the future.

Rainy’s latest endeavor beyond growing The Agency’s global brand is serving as the Board Chair of MLSListings, the premier, Silicon-Valley-based Multiple Listing Service (MLS) serving the Bay Area and Northern California. The news was announced during the organization’s December Board of Directors meeting. Rainy will be succeeding Karl Lee, who served as chair since 2019.

“I believe Rainy as the new MLSListings board chair will help us further our mission of providing our subscribers with innovative products and premier services to help them achieve their business goals,” said Karl. “Rainy has demonstrated a passion for strategically growing companies through her unique expertise and vision, skills which will be invaluable for MLSListings.”

The MLSListings platform is the intersection of comprehensive real estate data and transactions for the Northern California marketplace, specializing in the counties of Monterey, San Benito, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz. Approximately 16,000 real estate professionals in over 6,000 firms representing 28,000 square miles conduct business utilizing the platform. Because agents’ listings originate with MLSListings, its real estate data is the most up-to-date, refreshing every five minutes and providing the most accurate information available to buyers, sellers and those seeking real estate information. And the organization couldn’t be more pleased to have Rainy onboard.

“Just as MLSListings delivers tremendous value to our subscribers—from our comprehensive products and services offering and our local market expertise to our promise of listening and responding to our subscribers’ needs—Rainy’s professional experience clearly demonstrates her proficiency at working collaboratively to develop best-in-class services and offer unmatched customer experiences,” said Dave Wetzel, President and CEO of MLSListings.

For Rainy, this is a step toward the future of real estate—how the process could be streamlined in the years to come. It’s an exciting time and a big project to take on.

“It’s a pleasure to be collaborating with leaders in the industry and be named the Board Chair—so many people I admire and have spent decades working with are on this team. MLSListings is such an integral part of the work our agents do every day—it affects the brokerage, the agent and the client,” said Rainy. “The Agency offers a very high level of service and our agents bring incredible expertise to the table. I’m truly honored to be representing the brokerage and be included in building the future of our MLS.”
