Mauricio Umansky’s Essential Guide to Aspen

by | Feb 14, 2022

Aspen is a storybook alpine town, home to one of The Agency’s offices and one of Mauricio Umansky’s favorite places to enjoy time with his family. As an avid skier and sports enthusiast, it is a place you can truly choose your own adventure. Among the vast forests and white-capped mountains, there is something for everyone to enjoy this President’s Day weekend. From skiing in the morning to biking or hiking in the afternoon, followed by an evening spent with friends and family, Mauricio spotlighted some of his Aspen go-to spots in the Savills Ski Property Portfolio Winter 2021/22.

The Agency Aspen

First, of course, is The Agency Aspen, located in the heart of town on 205 S Mill St (#110). When not visiting The Agency’s alpine-chic base or touring some of the area’s most breathtaking properties, this is one of Mauricio’s favorite spots to set out from to enjoy the best food, drinks and merriment Aspen has to offer.

After a visit to the office, this high-energy trattoria is just steps away and serves delicious Italian eats. It is a great casual place to grab a bite. In addition, the outdoor dining space is a gem for every season.

This upscale French-American cuisine is a favorite for a festive Umansky family dinner. Located next to The Agency office, it is a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine at their sleek bar after a day on the slopes.

As Aspen’s first members-only club, this spot features world-class dining, an extensive wine list, a bar and even a nightclub for dancing post-dinner on the weekends. After dinner, Mauricio loves to sit back on one of the plush couches and enjoy a cocktail in the Great Room.

Exuding class and charm, this restaurant creates the relaxed Victorian style that predominates in Aspen, with the perfect modern twist.

This is Aspen’s best oyster bar. A true neighborhood spot, this establishment has a beautiful, fully restored mahogany bar that is just breathtaking. While enjoying a drink at the bar, the house-baked sourdough should not be missed.

Located in a nearly 150-year-old historic building downtown with rustic stone and wood throughout, this spot is a nod to the mountain saloons of the past. This is a fantastic place to gather with friends après ski or to watch a game with a craft beer before hitting another local establishment.
