Another day, a new dig for The Daily Show host Trevor Noah. The South African comedian has just moved up from his $15,000/month two-bedroom rental apartment, but only by a few floors.
In a deal that closed February 27, Noah paid $10 million for a three-bedroom duplex on the 17th and 18th floors of Stella Tower in Hell’s Kitchen. The penthouse pad originally sought close to $13 million, but was most recently listed for $11.495 million with Sotheby’s International Reality.
The 3,600 square foot duplex comes with three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. The lower level of the space has a loft layout and boasts 14-foot ceilings, oversized windows, and an eat-in kitchen. The upper level features a second living room that leads onto a 934-square-foot private terrace with views to match. The floor also includes an en-suite master bedroom with walk-in closets.
Noah has lived in the 18-story tower since last year, so he’s no stranger to the area. 425 West 50th Street is only a 5-minute walk from The Daily Show studio, but that’s not all the location has to offer. TripleMint agent Joshua Juneau describes the location of Noah’s penthouse:
“Stella Tower is one of my favorite Art Deco buildings in the city. Ralph Walker designed the building in homage to his wife, Stella. It’s surrounded by amazing restaurants and bars, not to mention that it’s a quick walk to the Blue, Red, and Yellow lines keeping you easily connected to the rest of Manhattan. The neighborhood itself has seen many new developments over the past 10 years, however, this converted prewar building stands as a jewel in the Midtown West skyline. Trevor is going to see a great return if he chooses to resell the property.”
Although the comedian’s circumstances are pretty surreal, this duplex definitely isn’t a joke.
