The Nice List: Our December Giving Highlights

by | Jan 4, 2023

At The Agency, this past December was filled with festive celebrations and charity-minded office events across the globe. Here, we’re spotlighting festive activities, competitions and collaborations that benefitted The Agency’s charitable partner, Giveback Homes, and a number of other local non-profits. Here’s to a great season of giving!

Holiday Office Decorating Contest

The Agency’s first-ever office decorating contest invited locations around the globe to imbue their offices with holiday cheer. To enter, all participating offices pledged to donate $100 to the winner’s charity of choice

The competition was fierce, but The Agency Beverly Hills came out on top, with donations benefiting Giveback Homes. In addition to a custom Santa’s elves portrait of Founder and CEO Mauricio Umansky and Founder and Chief Culture Officer, Billy Rose, the office decked the halls with garlands galore and kept things cozy with a fireplace on the TV. Watch our team’s reactions to the office decor in the video here.

Honorable mentions were many, and include The Agency Turks & Caicos, which made a splash with a special video, complete with Captain Santa on a The Agency-branded boat.

The Agency Seattle put on quite the show with an IG video featuring a fully costumed Grinch.

The Agency Pacific Palisades added Hanukkah and Christmas decor to their year-round candy display and topped it all off with freshly-frosted pine cones.

The Agency Healdsburg made things festive with a holiday window display and brought the cheer inside with a playful customized sign.

The Agency Victoria’s “Winter Wonderland” theme was a vision to behold, with snow, seasonal music and a bounty of gifts under the office’s Christmas tree.

The Agency Sherman Oaks let it snow with a handcrafted “Snowflake Sanctuary” complete with a smiling snowman and Christmas tree.

For their team’s holiday party, The Agency Long Island filled the office with seasonal swag, from a glowing Christmas tree to hanging snowflakes, wreaths, decorative pillows and cozy, mood-setting lighting.

Giving Around the Globe

Throughout the month of December, The Agency’s global network of offices in the U.S., Caribbean and Canada united to support various local organizations and helped brighten the holiday season for those in need.

The Agency North Atlanta gathered and donated toys for the Angel Wings Foundation. The team, decked out in festive swag, delivered the toys to patients at a local children’s hospital.

The Agency Los Altos hosted multiple agent-driven charitable efforts at their new office, including Toy for Tots, a diaper collection for the National Diaper Bank Network and a hats and mittens drive.

The Agency Denver hosted a lively holiday celebration at their Cherry Creek office, inviting the whole community and collecting over 250 gifts to be donated to Toy for Tots. The event included a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Clause as well as a hot cocoa bar—get a glimpse of the scene in this IG video reel.

The Agency Birmingham’s annual fundraiser benefitted Jimmy’s Kids, a Michigan-based program that assists Detroit families in need through their Christmas Day gift-giving program. Jimmy’s Kids’ goal is to provide more than 25,000 local children in need with toys, food and clothing. Our Birmingham office and community came together to donate toys and funds in support of the organization.

The Agency’s Venice, California team hosted a weeks-long canned food drive for the Westside Food Bank, resulting in a large donation that will serve local community members.

The Agency Arizona team lent support to the Aris Foundation, an organization that assists homeless young adults. In addition to collecting more than 100 blankets and sleeping bags for those in need, our team rolled up their sleeves to serve Aris Foundation members warm holiday dinners.

The Agency D.C. Metro made two financial donations to local organizations: Larger Than Life, which supports children with cancer and their families; and Shalva, which provides an all-encompassing range of services for people with disabilities.

The Agency Las Vegas’ team collected and delivered several bags of new and gently used clothes for kids at the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.

Agents from The Agency Waterloo Region—including Muskoka, Oakville and Brantford offices—collected various food items to support Cambridge Food Bank.

During The Agency Bahamas’ holiday party, guests were encouraged to bring items in support of the Bahamas Humane Society, which cares for surrendered and abandoned animals on the island.

Thank you to our team members across the world who embraced the spirit of the holidays and gave back to their communities!
