The Agency Takes Santa Barbara As Tournament Sponsor Of The 2016 SBCC Golf Classic

by | Mar 24, 2016

The Agency was the proud Tournament Sponsor of the 23rd annual SBCC Golf Classic, the 18-hole scramble tourney for the Vaquero Athletics program at Santa Barbara City College. The event, which was held under flawless blue skies on March 14th at La Cumbre Country Club, supports the 400+ student-athletes and cheerleaders who participate in the college’s 19-sport intercollegiate program, raising funds for a variety of programs, from coaching and tutoring to equipment and transportation. Several of The Agency’s own attended and participated in the event with the team of Chris Dyson, Mike Leipert, Matt Klein and Michael Grady taking the win for Men’s Low Net with a score of 55.45.  “It was really a double win for The Agency at the SBCC Classic,” said Mauricio Umansky, CEO and Co-founder at The Agency. “We were thrilled to sponsor such a terrific event that gives back to the student athletic program at the college, as this is just the beginning of The Agency’s involvement in the Santa Barbara community.” Each year, the Golf Classic selects an organization or individual to honor in recognition of their service to SBCC and support of a positive educational experience for the students and the community.

With the theme of this year’s event — “Teeing Students Up For Success” — the honoree selected was Evan Colavincenzo, an SBCC student-athlete alumnus. Evan has been the Golf Professional at La Cumbre Country Club for the past 22 years and part of the SBCC Golf Classic since its inception in 1994. Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Evan has organized nearly 200 charity golf events and helped non-profit organizations raise over $5 million, according to the college. “We are so fortunate to have such a supportive community here that recognizes what a special program we have,” said Ryan Byrne, athletic director at SBCC. “SBCC Athletics is a model student success program, and this tournament provides us with the resources to truly be great at what we do and take our program to the next level.” As tournament sponsor, The Agency had the pleasure of participating in the event and attending the luncheon and honoree reception as well as the award ceremony where members of our men’s team took home a selection of wine from nearby Presqu’ile Winery in Santa Maria Valley.
